I made this a couple of weeks ago but didn't want to post photos until I had sent it off to it's recipient. I used gold acrylic paint as the base, decopaged the front with part of a gorgeous napkin that I had been hoarding for a long time and had fun decorating inside with pictures and fibres from Lost Art Creations. Even my DH was impressed, although he didn't really know what it was! LOL!
Linda how beautiful. How exactly do you use the napkin? Do you split the layers? What type of glue do you use? Are they special napkins or just the ones you can buy at the supermarket?
ReplyDeleteSorry for being so nosy but I've been intrigued ever since a recent napkin swap which I didn't do.
Thanks for the nice comment Kate.
ReplyDeleteYes, split the layers and either tear pieces and adhere them or use the whole piece. I use watered down PVA glue to stick mine on. I dab at it with a brush to get it to stick down - it looks lumpy at first and you think you've just made one hell of a mess/mistake, but it dries out fine!
I save the back layers of the napkin as it can be stamped on and then adhered to whatever and it looks like it has been stamped directly on to the piece/card as it dries virtually clear.
Hope that helps!
